All Nepalese airlines operate the famous mountain flight along the Central Nepal Himalaya to Everest. The one-hour flight is best early in the morning, and flights aren't operated when the visibility is poor. Short Take Off & Landing (STOL) aircraft (which have only window seats) are mostly used; aisle seats usually aren't sold on bigger aircraft. Seats are allocated on a first-come first-serve basis at check-in. A visit to the aircraft cockpit is usually allowed.
The flight offers dramatic bird's eye views of the Central Nepal Himalaya, including the ranges of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Rolwaling Himal, and Khumbu Himal crowned by Mt. Everest. The 60 minutes in the air seem to fly by. This is an incredible visual experience that is quite simply a must for anyone with a love for mountains, leaving one in awe of the highest summits on the planet.
Flight Cost
US$ 166 (flight only), US$ 15 (hotel-airport-hotel transfer by Privet Car).
