After spending three days acclimatizing and exploring the sights in and around Lhasa, you drive across the Tibetan plateau crossing two 5,000m passes to ultimately descend right through the Himalaya to Nepal. En route you make stops at Gyantse, Shigatse, and Shegar, visiting the Palkor Chode and Tashi Lhunpo.

Day 1 (Sat) Fly Kathmandu - Gongkar; drive to Lhasa.
Day 2-3 (Sun-Mon) Lhasa: the Jokhang , Potala, Norbu Lingka, Sera and Drepung monastery.
Day 4 (Tue) Drive Lhasa - Gyantse, skirting Yamdrok Tso (lake); Visit Palkhor Chode.
Day 5 (Wed) Drive Gyantse - Shigatse; Visit Tashi Lhunpo.
Day 6 (Thu) Drive Shigatse - Tingri.
Day 7 (Fri) Drive Tingri - Nyalam/ Zhangmu.
Day 8 (Sat) Drive to Friendship Bridge; change transport; drive to Kathmandu.
