The Langtang valley called "the valley of glaciers". Here, mountains rise shinning towards the sky. The valley offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow- capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild primula. In the upper part of the valley there are snow ridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist, tiny lakes of crystalline brightness and glaciated mountain giants. What makes the Langtang trek special is that it is a less crowded trail among main trekking destination in the Himalayas. People here are mostly Tamangs (a tribe of people) who are perceived as a backward community. They mostly work as porters for expeditions and trekking. It is quite amazing to find such old traditional living just a few hours drive from the capital.
