The sacred Gosainkunda Lake situated in the Langtang National Park is the main lake among some 100 lakes that are found in this area. Hindu pilgrims throng in their hundreds during the month of August and likewise the Buddhists also revere this area.
The trek commences with a steep ascend but levels out for a relaxing trek through old growth forest. If the day is clear, you will be greeted some spectacular views of the valley below and magnificent waterfalls cascading down the mountain ranges across the valley.
There is ample opportunity to see the vast array of flora and fauna and if you are lucky and observant, you may even get to see some of the varied wildlife inhabiting the forest.
Trekking through some of the very best native forests you will glimpse the superb Langtang Lirung Peak (7246m) through the canopy
